Beautiful in the snowy lake district at a camping barn last weekend, sun and snow could see for miles from the top of the hill. Getting out was slight dramas. The night before Selby and Helen's car slid back down the hill and got stuck for an hour, we were at the pub at the time in front of the fire eating steak and ale pie (that's what friends are for). Luckily it didn't snow that night so we set off early next morning (if anyone was going to get stuck and block the road it was going to be us). After a lot of slipping and sliding and pushing we all got out. Daneet was a great help she leaned well forward on her seat at the tricky bits and cheered us on shouting "come on little Fiat" whenever we skidded. I heard today that the folk in the other hostel had to call mountain rescue to get them out (wusses).
Glad to hear you made it back - don't know how you would have done it without Daneet's help though. Wow, what a pic, it looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteDaneet, if only you had been with us when we set off today…
